In Gusau, Senator Yari sets out an issue-based approach to the campaign

Senator Abdulaziz Yari met Governor Dauda Lawal, traditional rulers and stakeholders in Gusau as consultations continued following his appointment to the presidential campaign council.

An issue-based approach

Speaking after the meeting, Yari said the campaign would focus on public issues and the administration’s record rather than personal attacks on opponents. He sought the traditional rulers’ counsel and prayers ahead of campaign activities.

Working with traditional institutions

Governor Lawal said the meeting introduced Yari to the traditional rulers in his campaign role. He emphasised peaceful participation and cooperation before, during and after the election.
