OFFICE POLICIES
Terms of Use
Clear information about using this website and engaging with the office.
Last updated 17 September 2026
These terms explain the conditions for using the website of the Office of Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar. The platform brings together public information, publications, media and channels for engaging with the office. By using an interactive service, please also read the guidance attached to that service and the relevant privacy information.
Purpose of the website
The website provides an accessible record of public activities and a way to send enquiries, report community concerns and find published opportunities. Information is presented for public communication. A webpage does not replace an Act, regulation, formal notice, official application instruction or decision issued by the institution responsible for it.
The office may help direct an enquiry, but the website does not exercise the functions of a court, emergency service, law-enforcement agency, examination body or other institution. A request sent here is not automatically a formal submission to another body. If a legal deadline or prescribed procedure applies, follow that procedure independently.
Using information responsibly
Read the full article or programme page, including any dates, eligibility conditions and status information. A historical announcement may remain available after an event or application period has ended. Its presence in an archive does not indicate that a new application round has opened or that an earlier condition remains current.
Take reasonable steps to confirm information before relying on it for a significant decision. If wording appears unclear or inconsistent, ask the office to clarify it. Avoid relying on a cropped image, a search-result extract or a forwarded screenshot where the complete page is available.
Acceptable use
Use the platform lawfully and respectfully. Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access, disrupt services, bypass access controls, introduce malicious code, overload a form or interfere with another person’s use. Automated requests must not undermine availability or attempt to collect private information.
Do not impersonate another person or organisation, submit knowingly false information, or use the office’s identity to imply an authority you do not have. Criticism, questions and disagreement can be expressed without threats, harassment or disclosure of somebody else’s private information.
Forms and correspondence
Provide accurate contact information when a response is needed. Select the most relevant subject and explain your request clearly. Where a matter has already been submitted, use its reference when available instead of repeatedly opening new submissions. An acknowledgement confirms receipt by the platform; it does not confirm eligibility, acceptance, funding or a decision on the merits.
The office may request further information, direct a matter to a more appropriate channel, or be unable to assist where it falls outside its remit. Response times depend on the issue and available information. Nothing on the website promises an immediate response or a particular outcome unless a specific published commitment expressly says so.
Applications, opportunities and events
Each opportunity or event can have its own eligibility rules, closing date, capacity and process. Read those instructions before submitting. Completing a form does not guarantee a place, award, appointment, payment or invitation. The office may need to verify information or seek clarification before a decision is made.
Do not pay an individual who claims that an informal payment guarantees an application outcome. If a published service includes a fee, the amount and authorised payment method should be stated through the relevant service. Ask the office to verify any unexpected request for money or sensitive information.
Uploaded material
You are responsible for ensuring that you are entitled to submit an attachment. Send relevant material, provide context and avoid unnecessary personal information. Do not upload malware, unlawful content, material obtained through unauthorised access or content that exposes another person to avoidable harm.
An attachment may be restricted or removed if it is unsuitable, cannot be processed safely or is not relevant to the request. Uploading a photograph does not itself authorise unrelated public use of the people shown in it. Public publication requires separate consideration of the material, its purpose and any applicable permissions.
Office accounts and restricted areas
Administrative access is intended for authorised personnel. Account holders should protect their credentials, use the security features provided and report suspected compromise promptly. Do not share an account merely to avoid the permissions assigned to another user.
A person whose authorisation has ended must stop using restricted functions. The office may suspend access to investigate a security incident or enforce permissions. Public access to information does not confer permission to access the system’s administrative functions or private records.
Intellectual property and the office identity
Text, images, recordings, marks and other materials may be protected by intellectual-property rights. Availability on the website does not imply that every asset may be reused without restriction. The Media Use Policy explains how to request clarification or permission where necessary.
Do not use the Senator’s name, portrait or the office identity in a way that falsely suggests endorsement, employment, accreditation or an official instruction. Altered material must not be presented as an unaltered official publication. Any quotation should preserve its meaning and relevant context.
External links and services
Some pages link to other organisations or use a third-party service for a particular function. Those services may have their own terms and privacy practices. The office does not control every change made to an external site and cannot guarantee its continued availability.
A link may provide useful context or a route to a service. It should not automatically be interpreted as an endorsement of every view, product or service offered by that organisation. Check the destination and the purpose of a request before entering personal details.
Availability, changes and corrections
The office may update content, amend a feature or temporarily restrict access for maintenance, security or editorial reasons. Errors and omissions should be reported through the contact channel, with the page address and a clear explanation of the concern.
The website is provided subject to its published information and applicable law. These terms do not exclude rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any question about a specific entitlement, dispute or formal process should be addressed through the appropriate professional or institutional channel.
Contact and interpretation
Questions about these terms can be sent to the office through the contact page. Identify the relevant page, service or interaction so the team can understand the issue. Where a service has additional published conditions, read them together with these terms. Changes apply from the date of the published revision, subject to applicable law.
