Subsidised fertiliser prepared for Zamfara’s 2025 wet season

A subsidised fertiliser programme backed by Senator Abdulaziz Yari was prepared for Zamfara’s 2025 wet farming season, with smallholder farmers as its principal intended beneficiaries.

Preparing distribution

The programme’s organisers inspected fertiliser at ASAD Fertiliser Blending Company in Bungudu. A committee was established to organise access through the state’s 14 local government headquarters.

The announced arrangement offered bags at ₦20,000 to participating farmers. Transport to the local government headquarters was to be provided without an additional delivery charge.

Supporting farm inputs

The intervention sought to reduce the cost of an important farming input during the wet season. Access was intended for farmers across political affiliations.
