Governor Uba Sani Pays Condolence Visit to Senator Yari in Kaduna

"It was a pleasure receiving His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, at my residence in Kaduna today. I deeply appreciate his thoughtful condolence visit, our warm conversations, and our shared commitment to unity, progress and the Renewed Hope agenda."

Those were the words of Distinguished Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari after the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, visited him at his Kaduna residence on Sunday, 4 October 2026.

The Governor came to condole with the Senator and his family over the recent passing of his aunt, who was a mother to him.

A visit between old colleagues

Governor Uba Sani and Senator Yari served together in the Senate before the Governor's election in 2023, and the two have remained close. The visit was warm and personal. The Governor offered prayers for the repose of the deceased and for the family she leaves behind, and the two men spent time together in conversation.

Senator Yari thanked the Governor for taking time out of his schedule to come in person, and said the visit had been a comfort to the family.

Shared commitments

Beyond the condolences, the Senator said the two leaders share a commitment to unity, progress and the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Kaduna and Zamfara are neighbours with much in common, including the security challenges facing rural communities and the hopes of millions of young people for opportunity.

The Senator, who is Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, has relied on the support of party leaders across the North as the Council begins its work, and Governor Uba Sani is among the most prominent of them.
