Senator Yari receives the Obaloyin of Yorubaland title in Oyo

Senator Abdulaziz Yari received the traditional title of Obaloyin of Yorubaland from the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, at the Alaafin's Palace in Oyo.

Recognition in Oyo

The ceremony placed the Senator within a cultural setting beyond his home state of Zamfara. Guests gathered for an occasion that combined traditional ceremony with personal and public recognition.

The honour forms part of his relationship with traditional institutions across Nigeria. It is a cultural title, distinct from his elected office in the Senate and from any appointment to a government body.
