Senator Yari meets Zamfara stakeholders on ward-level campaign coordination

Senator Abdulaziz Yari met APC stakeholders in Talata Mafara in September 2026 to discuss campaign coordination in Zamfara. Participants were reported to include representatives from the state’s 14 local government areas and 147 wards.

Yari described the engagement as a briefing on the presidential campaign council’s work. He discussed consultation with working committees at ward, local government and state levels, while explaining that his national campaign responsibilities extended beyond Zamfara.

The meeting addressed the relationship between statewide coordination and the work of local party structures. Yari called for an issue-based campaign focused on the administration’s record rather than personal attacks on political opponents.

The national assignment

The engagement formed part of Senator Yari’s work as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council. His consultations bring the campaign organisation into direct conversation with traditional institutions and community leaders.

The role follows earlier service as Governor of Zamfara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and sits alongside his present mandate as Senator representing Zamfara West.
