Senator Yari and Vice President Kashim Shettima Hold Strategic Meeting at the PCC Office
The Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, was at the Council’s office on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, for a crucial strategic meeting with Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, and other distinguished members of the Council.
It was a demonstration of strategic leadership, purposeful engagement and a clear sense of direction.
A meeting that sets direction
The meeting focused on the Council’s engagements and its preparations ahead of the 2027 presidential election. It brought together the leadership of the campaign and the Vice President, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s running mate, to review progress and agree on the next phase of work.
For the Presidential Campaign Council, strategic meetings of this kind turn plans into coordinated action. They ensure that the Council’s engagements across the states, its outreach to traditional and religious institutions and its communication of the Renewed Hope record all move in the same direction.
Leadership from the Director-General
Senator Yari leads the Council with the experience of a former two-term Governor of Zamfara State, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and the Senator representing Zamfara West. In recent weeks he has led the Council’s delegations to the palaces of the Oba of Lagos, the Oba of Benin and the Shehu of Borno, and consultations across Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi and Plateau.
The meeting with the Vice President at the Council office built on that programme, bringing the campaign’s leadership together to plan what comes next.
Preparing for 2027
A presidential campaign succeeds on preparation. The Council's teams must be ready in every state, its structures coordinated across the geopolitical zones and its programme of activities planned well ahead of time. The session at the PCC office gave the leadership the opportunity to review that readiness together with the Vice President and to agree on priorities for the weeks ahead.
The meeting also underlined the close working relationship between the administration and the campaign. With the Vice President in the room, the Council's plans are shaped directly by the priorities of the Renewed Hope ticket, and the campaign speaks to Nigerians with one voice.
Purposeful engagement
The Council’s work is about people: listening to communities, engaging institutions and explaining what the Tinubu administration has delivered. A united leadership, working closely with the Vice President, strengthens every part of that effort.
