Scholarship assistance reaches 2,055 Zamfara students

Registration assistance through the Senator A. A. Senator Yari Scholarship Initiative reached 2,055 indigent and orphaned students during the 2024/2025 academic session.

The support covered students admitted to 16 public and three private tertiary institutions. It continued an education programme announced in June 2024 with an initial focus on 1,700 students.

Reducing the cost of study

Registration costs can stand between an offer of admission and a student’s ability to begin or continue a course. The initiative directs assistance towards students whose household circumstances make those costs difficult to meet.

Its education committee administers the support, with indigent and orphaned students from Zamfara at the centre of the programme. The 2,055-student figure describes the 2024/2025 session.
